The finds from the stream confirm the picture provided by the excavations within the friary complex itself; the friary lived in some comfort and style. Fine imported glass was found, similar to that normally associated with the wealthier Esslingen patrician families. The exclusive use of "Swabian" red-painted Fineware at the friary tables in the 14th and 15th centuries and the presence of imported stoneware drinking beakers are also proof of the friaries' wealth. The presence of 14th century decorated glazed tiles proves the existence of ornate tiled heating stoves (Kachelofen) in the friary, which shows that the friars had by this time departed somewhat from their original ideals of poverty and austerity.
