The Graveyard

The church in Vöhingen was surrounded by a large graveyard. To date 550 skeletons have been excavated; a detailed osteological examination has not yet been undertaken. Expert examination can reveal details of age, gender, height, illnesses, nutrition and in certain cases cause of death.
 
Three skeletons have been examined provisionally; two are of infants (one 6 months, the other 2 years of age) who were buried contemporaneously with use of the wooden church.
