The archives organisation at the Czech Republic splits the state area into districts, in each of them one district archives responsible for it. There are eight of these districts:
1. West Bohemian district: State district archives Pilsen (Pilzen)
2. North Bohemian district: State district archives Leitmeritz (Litomerice)
3. Middle Bohemian district: State district archives Prag (Praha)
4. South Bohemian district: State district archives Wittingau (Trebon)
5. East Bohemian district: State district archives Zamrsk
6. North Bohemian district: State district archives Troppau (Opava)
7. South Moravian district: State district archives Brünn (Brno)
8. Prague: Archives of the capital Prag (Praha)
The districts themselves are split into some archives counties, in each of them one county archives responsible for it.

Further informations about the parish books at Olmütz: Genealogical sources parish books
Hours of buisiness of the archives (1994): Monday to Thursday all-day, Friday in the morning
The fees are (1994) 20 Czech crowns for each parish book volume, register volumes are free.
The personal speaks some German, the archives manager very good German.
Permission for photographing or filming of parish books or single entries won't be given.
As anwer on a written inquiry one gets a certified mail with the message of execution of the inquiry and also containing the bill for the research. This bill has to be payed through check or credit transfer on one of the given accounts. Afterwards the client gets a second certified mail containing the result of the inquiry. (fee example for 1995: 6 working hours and 20 parish book entries 93 German Marks)

The DZfG is member of the German library loaning system. The users room has got a reference library, where one get an survey about standard genealogy literature and also can have a look at methodical exemplary research works.
Fees: the personal usage is free.
